When The Boyfriend was here, we'd go to Genki Sushi all the time. No matter how hungry we are, we'd always tell the waitress that we'll wait for the booth seats.
Once we are at the booth, he'll automatically make the green tea while i keep a look out for the wasabi, sashimi and our favourite sushi (Hana maki!)
He enjoys watching me get high over wasabi... (yes wasabi makes me high! I love wasabiiiii!!). I enjoy watching his reaction when i tickle his legs with my feet (hehehe), especially when his sipping his hot green tea hehe.
Sometimes we'd sit there silently watching all the plates of sushi moving along in the conveyor belt while our feet flirted under the table...
I miss him so much .... so yesterday i had sushi for lunch.. alone.. in the office - i was too cheapskate to go to Genki Sushi.. plus.. eating alone in the restaurant is no fun. It's just not the same without him with me...
I can't wait to have sushi again with The Boyfriend!
Last Sunday, i made cookies.. and i had a hard time trying to "cream" the butter and sugar because i do not have an electric mixer at home.. It was very very tiring! Imagine, You're the human mixer!
I had to hold the mixing bowl with my left hand and use my right hand to cream it, with the egg beater.
Very Tiring you know! There was a time that i had to sit down and grip the mixing bowl in between my thighs and cream the mixture with my two hands! (The Boyfriend said that sounds sexy... but let me tell you.. It's NOT!!)
While i was doing that, i kept saying this to myself, "I am a human egg beater! I am a human egg beater! I AM A HUUUMAAAN EEEGGG BEAAATEEEEEEER!!"
I had to get my mother to help me too.. and also my sister! We took turns to cream the mixture..
My chewy chocolate cookies turned out good.. so did my right arm i think. I can see the muscle popping out.. But it's still aching though hahaha.
I need an electric mixer!! Fat Fingers : I need to get an electric mixer so i can bake more cookies and cake Mama : Don't need Fat Fingers : But if i don't get it i will have to do all the creaming and mixing manually!! Very tiring! Mama : Use the machine lah. Fat Fingers : Yah.. that's why i want to get one?!?! Mama : Don't need! Have one at home what?! It's right inside the cabinet. Fat Fingers : Wah Lau!!!! Why didn't you tell me earlier?!?!?!?!
Argh! My mama! We had the machine all along! And she thought i knew and was wondering why i prefer to use my hand instead of the machine!
A friend that i have always wanted to meet up with but didn't have the time to do so.
The friend whom i spent my teenage years with.. hanging out, playing, teasing each other, arguing, playing pranks on one another.
The friend who told me to "Remember to stay wild and be like the black stallion that can never be tamed."
Then we went on with our busy lives.. and didn't keep much in contact.
I'm affected by his death. It was all too sudden.... I couldn't sleep well the night i found out about his death. I kept waking up in the middle of the night, asking... "Why? What happened? You are so young.. too young to go!"
I went to the wake this evening.. i asked the same question.. but there was no answer.. just silence...No one knows why...
I cooked this on Sunday with my mama's help. She helped me to cut up the chicken hehe. I was too "chicken" to do that! The chicken was so succulent! The rice was good too but i think there's still room for improvement! I must cook this again!
Fat Fingers : Eh, you got read the papers today or not? Friend : What? Fat Fingers : PM Lee said, "Please lor you all! Speak good EngRish leh!" Friend : HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! My engRish not powderful enough meh?
I was out with my friends today and i was trying hard to speak good English because PM Lee said so and because.. i wanted to. But.. i can't! I'm used to speaking to my close friends in Singlish! When i talk to strangers or people i am not close to, i use perfect English.
So when i told my friends to speak good English they told me.. "Aiyah, we are Singaporeans! Singaporeans talk to Singaproeans can use singlish lah! When we talk to ang mohs, we will switch back to proper English! No problem one!"
But Dick Lee said, if we use proper English, we will still be Singaporeans....so is ok one!
Speaking about "Hor", don't use it in places where Singlish is not recongised ok? My friend who was studying in the US wrote an email to her Singaporean friend and used the word, "hor", many times in the email. The IT people checked her email and she was summoned to the Principal's office. He asked her who she was calling a whore! And what "whore fun" was she talking about!
I have a new gadget! Nope, it's not the latest MP3 player.. or an iBook.. or the latest 3G phone...
A DIGITAL WEIGHING SCALE! (for weighing ingredient's.. not my weight! hehe)
I got this from the Isetan Private Sale today! It was $89 and it's selling at $29! Good bargain right??
Aiyoh, i don't know why.. but.. i was so excited to get this weighing scale! Should i be worried about myself?? I've become sooo auntie i think! HAHAHAHAHA
There were only 100u on offer! So being the kiasu Singaporean, I was at Isetan at 9 am sharp! Actually i'm not that kiasu..if i were, i'd be there at 8 in the morning! Anyway, i sneaked out of the office to go get it hahaha. I rushed up to the 4th floor immediately... looked for it and grabbed one before the Japanese tai tais beat me to it! Muaahahahahaha
I am so happy with my purchase! I can't wait to use it!
Man, i can't stand myself. There must be something wrong with me? How can I, Fat Fingers, be so excited over a digital weighing scale???
Oh and what shall i bake/cook this weekend? Hmmm I'm thinking of making my own roti prata!! Hmmm I definitely need to practice my egg tarts too.. And i want to cook chicken rice.. hmmmm
Ah yes, the David Eyre's Pancake is really good. My family has been "ordering" this from me every other day! They are going to be sooo fat.
I knead help! hahaha I'm always bad with dough! I knead more practice!
Yeah..my dough was so bad at first.. i kneaded till i became angry... i kneaded till i have muscles on my arms..( i think! hahaha)
I almost wanted to give up and throw the dough away.... but i decided to knead it one last time and it worked! Yahoo!!
And so, I managed to make some delicious hawaiian pizza! Wooohooo! I think i passed because my 99 year old grandma said.. "Oh this tastes like those food that you call and have them delivered by those men in helmets." HAHAHAHA
He's the author of one of my fav. books, No Shitting in the Toilet. Yeah, it is as funny as it sounds. I love to bring it around when i travel. It's really a good book to read when you're in the plane, in the train... Yeah. I'm going to read this (again) when i'm bored in transit at Brunei...
"NSITT, the book, is a celebration of all that's perverse about travel. Instead of practical hints it gives you impractical ones. Rather than tell you the best places to stay it tells you the worst. Instead of celebrating transcendental travel experiences, it revels in the most base and demeaning ones."
After i talked to Brunei Air, i went back to my desk, plugged in my earphone and listened the radio..and the station was playing the last part of the song, Breakaway, by Kelly Clarkson.
I'll spread my wings And I'll learn how to fly Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye I gotta take a risk Take a chance Make a change And breakaway Out of the darkness and into the sun But I won't forget the place I come from I gotta take a risk Take a chance Make a change And breakaway, breakaway, breakaway
